
EuroCC@Greece announces the 19th Course of HPC Training Series with the subject “OpenMP for Shared-Memory Parallel Programming”, taking place online on January 26th, 2026.

Audience: Suitable for Students / researchers / engineers with:
- Basic C/C++ or Fortran knowledge,
- Basic familiarity with Linux and batch systems (Slurm),
- Access to Linux/WSL environment, and
- GCC compiler with OpenMP support
Course Description: This seminar provides a practical introduction to OpenMP, focusing on how to incrementally parallelise existing serial code using a simple and portable shared-memory programming model. Participants will learn the core OpenMP concepts, including parallel regions, worksharing, data scoping, synchronisation, and performance considerations such as scheduling and NUMA effects, supported by hands-on examples in C/C++ and Fortran.
