EuroCC@Greece announced the 5th Course of the HPC Training Series with the subject “Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM on High Performance Computing (HPC)”, that successfully took place online on June 14th, 2024.

Presentation language: Greek

Audience: Suitable for students, researchers, and engineers working in the field of CFD, who are interested in working in an HPC environment.

Location: Online via Zoom

The course included an introduction to High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using OpenFOAM, with a demonstration of the SLURM job submission system. The session begun with setting up and troubleshooting a virtual HPC environment, which attendees installed on their own machines to simulate an HPC experience. The schedule covered fundamental concepts of CFD, such as fluid dynamics and turbulence modeling, and introduced OpenFOAM’s features and history. Attendees had hands-on opportunities to manage and submit CFD jobs in a simulated HPC environment. The course concluded with a demonstration of the ARIS supercomputer.
