EuroCC@Greece and the IT Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) announced the “Artificial Intelligence (AI)on High Performance Computing (HPC): Boosting AI research and systems through the usage of HPC infrastructure” Hybrid Seminar, which took place on October 11th, 2023, at 10:00 – 14:00 EET.

Audience: The event was suitable for members of the academic community and industry (researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, etc.) who are interested in the utilization of High Performance Computing technologies for Artificial Intelligence applications.

 

Location: On-site at the KEDEA AUTH building and Online via Zoom.

 

The seminar consisted of two parts (see the detailed Agenda here):

A.  The first part included an introduction to HPC technologies and infrastructures and their use for Artificial Intelligence applications. Relevant research activities of members of the AUTH and a tutorial on the use of the HPC infrastructure “Aristotle” of the AUTH for Artificial Intelligence applications were presented.

B.  The second part consisted of a workshop (hands-on training) for the use of HPC techniques and infrastructures in the training of machine learning algorithms (AutoML). Participants had the opportunity to follow the examples of the instructors.

 

In total, 206 registered participants attended the Hybrid Seminar, while the majority of participants attended the event online (141 users entered zoom), with an average attendance duration of 2 hours, while 25% of the audience attended for the entire duration of the event (4 hours).
